Program Specialist

SummaryUnder the direction of the Kupu Ola Program Director and in collaboration with the Kupu Ola Cultural Specialist, the Kupu Ola Program Specialist will co-design, facilitate and lead activities that build and develop youth leadership skills for participants.
Duties and Responsibilities? Conduct literary research on leadership models, practices and protocol.
? Ensure accurate and scalable information as it relates to youth development.
? Synthesize information into lessons and activities that reach all ages.
? Assist Kupu Ola Cultural Specialist with the design and execution of cultural curriculum and the integration of activities that build andenhance youth leadership skills.
? Co-facilitate and lead activities with youth participants.
? Engage parents in activities and events as appropriate.
? Develop and maintain positive relationships with partner agencies, as assigned by the Project Manager.
? Provide input, feedback and research assistance for youth-directed projects.
? Provide monthly progress reports to the Kupu Ola Director.
? Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications? Associates degree? Experience with youth ages 8-16Skills and Knowledge? Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external individuals, groups, organizations, and communityagencies.
? Able to be flexible and adapt quickly to new and frequent changes.
? Excellent ability to work patiently and effectively with youth.
Preferred Experience? Knowledge of Native Hawaiian communities.
? Experience leading youth activities that promote and build leadership skills.
